We will be having an RBR Parents Meeting Tuesday night, May 16th, from 7 PM. ALL RBR parents are encouraged to attend, i.e. every parent with a child intending to participate in the Royal Blue Regiment this fall, musicians and color guard both.

We will be meeting in the band room on campus. Coffee, refreshments, and treats will be served.

On Wednesday, November 30th, Buffalo Wild Wings hosted our annual RBR Awards Banquet. During the event, the RBR students, parents, and staff had a chance to celebrate the accomplishments of the season over dinner, followed by an awards ceremony to recognize the exceptional accomplishments of the students.

We will be hosting the RBR End-of-Season Holiday Awards Banquet for RBR students and their families on Wednesday, November 30th, from 6 PM. The banquet will be held at Buffalo Wild Wings in Lake Forest. See the map below for the location.
After everyone eats their dinner, Mr. Miller will be presenting awards to the RBR Marching Band students.
The event will also help raise funds for RBR, as 15% of your bill (excluding alcohol) will be donated by Buffalo Wild Wings back to the program.
Families are welcomed and encouraged. It will be a fantastic way to celebrate another amazing season. Hope to see you all there!

RBR's FINAL competition of the season will be at the WBA State Grand Championship on Sunday, 11/20, being held at Chaffey High School in Ontario. Again, the students will be performing this season's show, "The Blue Forest."

The basic itinerary for the day is as follows:

• Student call time is 11:30 AM at El Toro High School.
• Departure time is 12:00 PM. Approximately 46 minutes. Please see the map and directions below.
• Performance time is 4:30 PM.
  
• Awards are at 6:30 PM.
  
• End-of-day pick-up time is at 10:10 PM at El Toro.

Tickets for admission are $30 for Adults, $25 for Military with ID, $20 for children 5-112, and free for children under 5. Spectator parking is $10.

For the first time in twenty years, El Toro High School's Royal Blue Regiment has placed FIRST in the WBA State Division Championships! RBR competed in the AA Division and finished with a season-high score of 86.625.
Congratulations to our kids, Boosters, coaches, staff, and Music Director Brandon Miller!
Sunday, the RBR returns to compete in the 1A/2A/3A Group State Grand Championship. They will be seeded in sixth place. Please come out and join us in supporting our kids in their final performance of the season as they compete against the giants from three all-state divisions!

The RBR has the opportunity to perform in a marching parade at Disneyland on January 20th, 2023. The RBR traditionally marches at Disneyland every year, and it is always a really fun trip. This year marks the RBR's return to Disneyland for the first time since 2019.
If you are reading this and are not in the RBR, that is because Mr. Miller has decided to open up this opportunity to those students that play a band instrument but couldn't participate in marching band this season. The cost of the trip is $155 per student. The payment and form is due Friday 11/18, but it can be turned in after the Thanksgiving break if you are just hearing about this and need a little more time.

We finally get to resume this tradition for the first time in four years. Let's make it a memorable return and try to get as many kids as we can to join and make it as fun as possible. Hope to have you join us!

2023 ETHS Music Trip to Disneyland

Our monthly General Booster Meeting will be held on Monday, November 14th, from 7:00 PM. All Booster parents are encouraged to attend (i.e. every parent with a child in the music program).  In light of marching band championships this coming weekend, this meeting is considered mandatory for all parents of students in the RBR as we will be discussing important topics relevant to this weekend's events.
We will also be discussing the upcoming Holiday concerts, ordering of concert attire, and the kick-off of the Christmas Mickman’s Greenery Sale!
We will be meeting in the band room on campus. Coffee and refreshments will be served.

This year’s Band Fest will be held at Laguna Hills High School (map below) on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022. Band Fest is the annual musical exhibition of the marching bands of Laguna Hills, El Toro, Mission Viejo, and Trabuco Hills High Schools. The bands of La Paz, Los Alisos, Rancho Santa Margarita, and Serrano Intermediate Schools will be joining their high school counterparts to watch and play as well.
This non-competitive performance showcase is designed to demonstrate the outstanding Instrumental Music program offerings of the Saddleback Valley Unified School District. This festival provides an opportunity for the ensembles to share their talents with friends, families, and peers in the SVUSD community.
District middle school student musicians will join the high school bands to perform the National Anthem, and will also help perform pep tunes in the stands. Band Fest is a lot of fun and a great recruiting opportunity for the RBR and ETHS Music Program. You won't want to miss these performances!

Additional details are as follows:

• Kids will be leaving for the festival straight from school.
• We will be feeding the kids dinner and snacks. Burgers from In-N-Out Burger and veggie burgers (not from In-N-Out) will be provided, along chips, water, and other snacks for the kids to grab and take on the bus to eat. Please note: if your student does not eat beef, gluten, or has any food allergies you are concerned about, please have them notify the Drum Major of their special requests, or send them with something to eat. They will not be able to eat until after pick up time.
• The event will begin at 6:30 PM. The Box Office will be open from 5:30 PM. Parents who are not volunteers who want to watch the show should plan to arrive no later than 6 PM. Wear your RBR spirit wear, or blue and gold, and come find us in the stands. Please bring your friends and family members as well, and let's make the ETHS Music section the largest one there!

On Saturday, the RBR Marching Band will be competing at their second competition of the season, performing their show, "The Blue Forest," at the Capistrano Valley High School Field Tournament.
We will be feeding the kids and volunteers lunch before departing, and dinner after the performance. Basic schedule is:

• Call time: 10 AM
• Lunch (teriyaki chicken) on campus: 1:25 PM
• Travel to Capo Valley HS: 2:15 PM
• Performance time: 5:18 PM
• End-of-day pick-up time at El Toro HS: 10:50 PM

Volunteers are needed! As follows:

• Chaperones: We need Chaperones for each trip we take! For safety reasons we can not go to competitions without chaperones!
• Pit & Prop Pushers: We cannot get all the equipment on and off the field without you! The students are physically unable to do it all and we need many parents to help!
• Food Donations: Please help donate food as we are serving both lunch and dinner to our students at the competition!
• Spectators needed! Please come to watch, support and cheer on our RBR Students. Find us in the stands and join us. We typically sit close to the 50 yard line.

On Friday night, once halftime festivities conclude at tonight's ETHS football game, the RBR seniors, parents, and family members will be heading over to BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse for a Senior Night celebration dinner!
BJ's is located at 24032 El Toro Road in Laguna Hills, at the northwest corner of the former Laguna Hills Mall parking lot and just south of City Hall.
Treat your family to a wide range of meat, seafood, pizza, and dessert entrees, while parents can treat yourselves to one of over 200 on-tap brews.
We are looking forward to celebrating with the seniors and their families tonight!
