An Award-Winning Tradition

El Toro High School's Royal Blue Regiment Marching Band is a 44 year-old award-winning ensemble. The Royal Blue Regiment is composed of brass, percussion, and woodwinds instrumental sections, and the Color Guard. During marching band season, all four sections work together both on and off the field.

At the beginning of August, RBR students participate in a two week-long Band Camp.

Camp days & Practices 

Band Camp is held the generally the first 2 weeks in August or the two weeks prior to the start of school. 

​In the fall, the marching band,rehearses Mondays and Tuesdays after school, and Thursday evenings. With an occasional rehearsal after school on Friday.

The RBR marches in the City of Lake Forest July 4th parade annually, and is joined by alumni members.

Fourth of July Parade

The annual Fourth of July Parade kicks off the year, showcasing Lake Forest's sole marching band.

To prepare for the parade there are often camp days held in June and right before the parade.

Football games

Football games begin in August. At home football games, the RBR performs a half-time exhibition of their field show. For all football games they perform as a pep band, supporting the football team and representing our Chargers.

Field Show Competitions

Competition season begins in October. This Fall (2024-2025), RBR will compete in both California State Band Championships (CSBC) and Western Band Association (WBA) events.
