Come see the RBR in action for this year's annual RBR Parent Preview Performance! They will be showcasing what they learned during band camp and presenting the first movement of this year's show. The day will begin with an extended rehearsal for the RBR, followed by a potluck dinner before the Parent Preview performance. The schedule is as follows:
At 5:30 PM, before the show, please join us for a potluck dinner with your student! It has been a few years since we have had one. We will have servers for the food. Please join the sign up list for the Potluck. We need each family to bring a dish, and a few helpers for dinner service.
If you have any questions, please contact our Marching Band liaisons, Rose at (949) 230-9711 or Lulu at (714) 376-1708. Alternatively, you can contact our VP of Admin, June at (714) 651-5927.
See you out there tonight!
RBR Seniors: we desperately need your responses to our questionnaire, a baby picture, and a current picture! It is due ASAP! Please go to this link to complete the questionnaire. And please upload your photos to our Mega Cloud Drive (note: the upload link was broken but appears to be functional again).
And SAVE THE DATE for Friday, 10/14, from 4:30 PM to 10 PM. This is our RBR Senior Night Football Game. More details will come out soon, but we do want our senior parents to keep that night open in their schedules.
Today we will be having a dine-out fundraiser at Handel’s Ice Cream ALL DAY LONG. Come grab an ice cream treat at Handel’s anytime today (they're open between 11 AM and 10 PM). If you don’t have a chance to grab your ice cream before the meeting, then please join us after the meeting for a delicious treat! We get 20% of all sales that mention the program, so be sure to mention ETHS Instrumental Music when making your purchase. Thank you so much for your support, and hope to see you there!
Annual Mandatory Instrumental Music Program Overview Meeting Thursday 8/24 at 6:30 PM
We will be holding our annual Instrumental Music Program Overview Meeting. Mr. Miller will be discussing all of the activities planned this year for all of the concert ensembles, orchestras, and marching programs. This meeting should be considered mandatory for both students and parents alike. There will be information discussed that was not discussed at the new member meeting. This also provides an opportunity for those that missed the New Member Meeting to get the information they missed.
This Friday, August 19th, football season kicks off with our ETHS Chargers Football Team playing their first home game against La Mirada. Our RBR musicians will be performing pep tunes in support of our football team. Please sign-up to help with volunteer duties at the home football game! Our football players can't take the field without RBR's help. It's also great fun for the parents.
Volunteers will be meeting in front of the band room from 4:30 PM. Kickoff time is at 7:30 PM.
And if you can't volunteer, we still hope to see you at the game. The Music Boosters are usually seated at the opposite end from the entrance—look for a sea of boosters t-shirts.
So come out and show some school spirit, and your support for our band and football players!
Please come out and celebrate the End-of-Band Camp and last days of summer with a day at the beach and evening bonfire! It's our traditional Beach Day Celebration, held annually for the RBR students and family at the conclusion of Band Camp.
We have a picnic area with a fire ring reserved past dusk. Several of us plan to arrive early. Expect a day of fun with family and friends. The event will be from 1 to 9 PM. We will supply dinner and dessert around 5 PM, which will be pizza, drinks, and s’mores. Plan to buy or bring your own lunch, drinks, and snacks if you are spending the entire day and plan to eat earlier. You can bring a beach towel, lounge chair, sunscreen, a hat, a swimsuit, and a sun umbrella. There are volleyball courts nearby too.
Parents and students are both welcome. Cost is nothing for RBR Students and $5 per parent or family member. There is also a flyer you can print out below.
The location is the same as before: Huntington Beach State Beach, Newland Ramada Picnic Area D (which is confusingly the same exact location as Picnic Area A). The map to the location is below. Parking is approximately $20. The lot fills up quickly, so please plan accordingly. Enter the parking lot at the Beach Blvd. or Magnolia St entrance, since Newland St. is closed, and park as close as you can to Newland St. Our campsite is right across from the power plant.
The previous Beach Day we hosted last year was a blast. We hope you can come out. See you there!
Come a few minutes early for tonight's General Boosters Meeting, and you can have a nice cold treat with Kona Ice! They will be out in front of the ETHS gym from 5 to 6 PM. Portions of all sales will be donated to the ETHS Instrumental Music & Pageantry Program.
Our August General Booster Meeting will be held on Thursday, August 4th, from 6:30 PM. All Booster parents are encouraged to attend (i.e. every parent with a child in the music program), but this meeting is mandatory for all RBR parents. We will be meeting in the band room on campus.
At this meeting, you will learn about the Football Season, Band Camp, End-of-Band-Camp Celebration, and more! Come a few minutes early and you can have a nice cold treat with Kona Ice! We are excited for a fabulous new Fall marching season, and the start of Band Camp! Please see the information in the PDF brochure below for a lot of important information for this week, and read it through beginning to end!
