Please sign-up to help with volunteer duties at the home football game tonight, where our RBR musicians will be performing pep tunes in support of our Chargers football team (who so far is undefeated this season). Our kids can't take the field without our help. It's also great fun for the parents.
Volunteers will be meeting in front of the band room at 5:30 PM.
And if you can't volunteer, we still hope to see you at the game. The Music Boosters are usually seated at the opposite end from the entrance—look for a sea of boosters t-shirts. So come out and show some school spirit, and your support for our band and football players!
To all parents with students who are in Marching Band—the following "Authorization to Treat a Minor" form needs to be completed and turned-in prior to the competition at Mission Viejo High School. Please turn in completed forms to Mr. Miller.
All instrumental music students (except Jazz Band) will be required to wear formal concert attire for the 2021-2022 music season, as described below.
Girls will have two options: 1) dress or 2) shirt & pants combo.
Boys will wear a black tuxedo (with white shirt and royal blue bow tie).
How to Place Your Order
You will place your order directly with Cousins at their website. You may provide your own formal black shoes or order from Cousins Concert Attire.
If you need assistance in getting the appropriate measurements for your child, please use the link at the Concert Attire website for directions on how to measure your child, or telephone the company for step-by-step directions.
Please note: All garments come without a hem. In the past, we successfully used Original Hems Studio, 23034 Lake Forest Dr., Lake Forest (949) 916-0111. But you can use your own alterations shop or do the alterations yourself.
Please remember to leave time for ordering, shipping, and alterations to have your concert attire ready on time. Ordering deadline is October 8th. Late orders will be accepted, but they will not likely arrive in time for the December concert.
We have a limited quantity of gently used attire available as well. Please inquire for details with Fidelma.
For additional info, please visit the Cousins Concert Attire website. Please contact Fidelma Roberts by phone or email with any questions or concerns.
Information and details can be downloaded below.
Tonight, parents will have a chance to preview the Marching Band perform this season's show, entitled, Building Towards Tomorrow. The performance will be held in the football stadium at 7:00 PM. Parking will be available at the lot off Serrano.
We will have dinner prior to the show. At 5:30 PM, taco dinners will be served by Tacos & Co. If you didn't sign-up for a taco dinner before Tuesday, you can bring your own dinner instead.
Parent volunteers are needed for tonight's preview. We need your help to make tonight a success. Please follow this link here to join the sign-up.
Details can be found in the flyer below.
All comers are welcome; the performance is free. Bring out your family and friends as well. The season was cancelled last year due to the pandemic, so this year's show is all the more important. Let's make this comeback season a success! Please come out to show your support for your children.
The September newsletter is out, hot off the presses, produced by our hard-working President, Parliamentarian, and staff! In it is information about the Spirit Wear Sale, the Disney Opportunity Drawing, the September RBR practice and football schedule, the Dine-Out Night at Chipotle, upcoming fundraisers, donations, Project Inspire, and the Music Angels sponsorship program. There is a parent meeting at 6 PM. This meeting is for parents of students in any ensemble, and is mandatory.
Location is still TBD—please keep your eye on this news item for updates.
Please come out and celebrate the End-of-Band Camp and last days of summer with a day at the beach! It's our traditional Beach Day Celebration, held annually for the RBR students and family at the conclusion of Band Camp.
We have a picnic area with a fire ring reserved past dusk. Several of us plan to arrive early. Expect a day of fun with family and friends. We will supply dinner and dessert around 5 PM, which will be pizza, drinks, and s’mores. Plan to buy or bring your own lunch, drinks, and snacks if you are spending the entire day and plan to eat earlier. You can bring a beach towel, lounge chair, sunscreen, a hat, a swimsuit, and a sun umbrella. There are volleyball courts nearby too.
Parents and students are both welcome. Cost is nothing for RBR Students and $5 per parent or family member. There is also a flyer you can print out below (the map is hardly legible; better to reference the map and directions below).
The location is the same as before: Huntington Beach State Beach, Newland Ramada Picnic Area B (which is confusingly the same exact location as Picnic Area A). The map to the location is below. Parking is approximately $15. The lot fills up quickly, so please plan accordingly. Enter the parking lot at the Newland Street entrance.
The previous Beach Day we hosted in June was a blast. We hope you can come out to this one too. See you there!
Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 3rd, from 7:30 PM. This meeting is mandatory for all Royal Blue Regiment parents, though all Booster parents are encouraged to attend.
As far as meeting location is concerned, we will be meeting on-campus! That's right, we are going to use this brief interlude between lock-downs to see one another in-person. We will be hosting the meeting in the lower quad just outside the band room.
We look forward to seeing everyone tonight.
The RBR Parent Handbook is out, produced by our hard-working Parliamentarian and Booster Club Staff! In it, parents will find all the information they need in order to support their children as they participate in the Marching Band, including forms, practice schedule, what to expect, finances and donation requests, and chaperone duties. Please take the time to download and read it, below.
